The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice exists to help their patients achieve the best quality of life possible in whatever time remains for them. They offer care in the hospice or at home, should the patient prefer it. They offer physiotherapy and occupational therapy and complimentary therapies, helping patients to maintain independence, gain relief from pain and perform day-to-day activities which their illness may have made difficult or impossible. They also provide counselling and family support at all points of a patient’s illness.
The actual cost of Hospice care is some £4.2 million each year. That means they must raise around £10,400 every working day, just to keep the doors open!
