Meet the Team
Skylight International is staffed with specialists who apply the same level of care and dedication to each and every project; modest or grandiose, commercial or residential, traditional or contemporary. Whether you’re handling project management personally, working with an architect or employing a builder or roofing contractor, our team is designed to become an integral part of your planning. We understand how daunting and stressful completing renovations or new-builds can be, so from inception to completion, our dependable team can guide you and your team through the potential mine-field of technical specification, terminologies and multiple glazing options. We operate a no-pressure approach to sales, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch, regardless of budget or what stage of planning you are at.
ANDREW McLAUGHLIN
Andrew now has 30 years experience in the industry and has seen major development over this time. The significant and ongoing changes have been from Health and Safety and Environmental perspectives.
Andrews point of view on the subject – “We’ve seen the demise-and very welcome the demise-of the shoogly three piece ladder.” (Andrew is Nebosh qualified, though apart from that, he just doesn’t like ladders!) And from an environmental perspective we’ve seen the introduction-and now see the demise-of double glazing. “Thankfully though, you don’t have to humph the new triple glazed units up an old shoogly ladder.”
To relax Andrew keeps a bike in the hut (Triumph Sprint ST 955i), a nesting box on top of the hut (with nesting bluetits this year) and beer in the fridge (Tennents if you’re asking).
Shoogly; unsteady, woobly.
Humph; to move around laboriously under the weight of a heavy unwieldy burden.
STEPHEN McLAUGHLIN
From a background in heavy engineering Stephen has been part of Skylights management since its incorporation in 1988
Time and technology have since taken Skylight from its Clydebuilt roots to 21st century expertise.
We’ve seen major advancement in product and production facilities and while Stephen has been keen to embrace this evolution/revolution he retains some traditional, perhaps Clydeside, influences. The saw might well have become an all singing electronic double head cutting-off machine – the spade, however, will remain a spade.
Stephen, throughout this time, has also (been) kept abreast with the mobile phone revolution – from the first car phone to that ubiquitous Motorola Brick (forgets the model number – did it have one?) to the current iPhone. He will, however, readily admit that he’s not embraced the “Social Media Revolution” and won’t be sharing photos of his dinner.
That’s not to say he won’t welcome a chat – whether it’s on your rooftop or tabletop or on the golf course.
“Give us a phone on 07736 827427”
Stephen is a Tartan Army Fan and has completed several tours of duty – though not as many as he might have hoped.
Will he be supporting England in Brazil?
“Yes,.. correct!”
